What does AIA Architects do?
We are an architecture, interior design and construction project management practice. Our work covers commercial and institutional buildings, interiors, hotels and conference facilities, housing, public infrastructure such as airports and ports, and project management on behalf of clients.
Where are you based?
Our main office is at Rose Avenue, Court B4, Hurlingham, Nairobi. We also have an office in Kigali, Rwanda, and work on projects across East Africa.
How long has AIA been in practice?
AIA Architects Limited was incorporated in 2005, when In-House Architects and Adventis Ltd merged; the firm was previously known as Adventis Inhouse Africa. It is led by seven partners with more than 100 years of combined experience.
What kind of projects have you worked on?
Our projects include the African Union Campus in Nairobi, design review for the Greenfield Terminal at JKIA, the Manda Airport terminal, building facilities at Lamu Port, Meru Rising Tower, headquarters for Alexander Forbes and First Assurance, the Kigali Convention Complex and housing developments such as Clermont Residence in Westlands. Can you manage construction as well as design the building?
Yes. We can act as architect, as project manager, or both. Our project management covers procurement, cost control, site supervision and handover, following the ten stages described on our How We Work page.
Do you take on smaller projects, such as private homes?
Yes. Alongside larger commercial and public work, we design private houses and smaller residential schemes, and take them through the same stages of design, approval and supervision.
